Student Success Officer - Cape Town

The student success officer is responsible for coaching each registered student from the moment the student data is received for enrolment on the learner management system. The student success officer is also responsible for attending and resolving all technical and administrative student queries. This role is broad, and its core responsibility is monitoring the student learning journey and make sure that each student assigned to you has progressed timeously. This position will be based at our Cape Town offices and we therefore welcome applications from the Cape Town region.

Key Output/ Responsibilities

• Assigning each student to their registered course and class

• Enrolling students on the learner management system and creating their login details

• Maintaining and keeping student records

• Checking and auditing that each learner assigned to you can log in on the learner management system and is assigned to the correct courses and lecturer

• Assisting students to resolve all non-academic queries

• Offering technical support to students

• Escalating all technical issues to IT department and providing feedback to students

• Entering data into data management system and audit for accuracy, completeness, and conformity to established procedures

• Resolve student administrative queries

• Follow up on students during their learning journey to monitor progress

• Coaching students to complete all modules and milestones in time as per the semester work scheme

• Retain 80% of students each semester.

• Performing other responsibilities and duties as needed

Job Requirements:


• Ability to work under pressure

• Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors

• High level computer proficiency (especially Excel)

• Attention to detail

• Written and verbal communication

• Proficiency in English (Zulu added advantage)

• Soft skills and patience to assist students remotely

• Ability to work in a team setup and not individually

Education and Experience

• Relevant Diploma or Bachelors degree

• Previous experience in a student administrative role will be an added advantage

• Previous experience in offering technical support will be an added advantage

• Experience in a student support related role

• Minimum of 2 years administration experience (working with business systems)
